Fall Revival Update
We are currently in our fifth revival since August 8, and the Lord has been doing some amazing things in these meetings. Our first fall revival was held on August 8-11, at the Lakeview Wesleyan Church in Rossville, GA with Pastor Myron Banther. This was our first time to have a meeting in Georgia and we were certainly glad to be with them. We first met them last year at the Tennessee District Camp in Jamestown, TN. Rossville is quite an historic Civil War area with the Chickamauga Battlefield located there and it is also in view of Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga.
The services were well attended and went very well with seekers at the altar nearly every night. They had a good group of young people that were also very faithful to attend all the services.
Several pastors and area churches supported the meeting. Among them were: Rev. Charles Fountain from Rossville Nazarene; Rev. Ed Galyon from Chattanooga First Wesleyan; Rev. Jay Neal from Gordon Lake Wesleyan; Rev. Josh Woods from Springs Wesleyan; Rev. Carl Jackson from Zion Assembly Church of God; Rev. Andy Walz; and Rev. Dean Sieres.
Our next two revivals were held just north of Columbus, OH and enabled us to stay with our sons and commute back and forth to the meetings. It made for a little extra driving since one revival was about an hour away and other one was a little more than an hour and a half away but it was worth it just to get to be with the boys. The first meeting was held in Cardington, OH on August 15-18, at the Cardington Nazarene Church with Pastor Darryle Moody and the second one was held on August 22-25, in Sidney, OH at the Sidney Wesleyan Church with Pastor Steve Chapman. Both meetings went very well with a good spirit present and a good response at the altar. Both revivals also received support from visiting pastors and churches. Among them were: Fulton Nazarene; Hayden Enterprise Baptist; Fargo Wesleyan; Olive Green CCCU; Delphos Wesleyan; Pastor Eric Allen from Lima Trinity Wesleyan; Pastor Michael Will from Mt. Carmel Friends; and Pastor Ron Lambert from St. Mary's Welseyan.
Our last revival in August was held from August 29 - September 1, at the Trinity Chapel CCCU in Jackson, OH with Pastor Bob Jones. Since this was only about an hour from home, we were able to stay home and commute each night. This was an exceptional meeting in several ways! On Sunday morning, a husband and wife came to the altar and were gloriously saved and they continued to come for the remainder of the meeting. That is always a good sign. On Sunday night, a man went to his truck and brought back to me his can of snuff after surrendering it to God at the altar and seeking deliverance from its awful grip and additive power. Thank God there is power, power, wonder working power in the precious Blood of the Lamb!!! That would make a good hymn, wouldn't it? Someone ought to write one like that sometime :-) ! This was the third can of snuff that someone had surrendered this summer. The first one was given to me by a young man at the conclusion of my brother's funeral and the second one was given to me one night at an altar service at the Mooer's Camp in NY by a young veteran who had been severely injured while serving in Iraq. I am collecting them in behalf of my brother who died because of this horribly addictive poison. Since he is no longer able to warn others of its deadly consequences, I will.
Several friends from Jackson and the surrounding area came in support of the revival. Among them were: Oak Hill Trinity Wesleyan; McArthur Nazarene; Wellston Nazarene; Jackson Nazarene; Jackson Good Shepherd Wesleyan; Crown City Wesleyan; White Oak Baptist; Pine Ridge Wesleyan; Allensville CCCU; Rev. Grover Blankenship; Rev. Stan Howard; Rev. Roger Channell; Rev. Herman Stewart; Bro. Major Young and many others too numerous to mention. In fact, we were told that this was a record attendance for a revival meeting with weeknight crowds even surpassing that of Sunday morning. Praise the Lord!
After having Labor Day week off, we are currently in revival at the Elmwood Wesleyan Church in Cincinnati, OH with Pastor Jamison Moody. We will give you an update on this meeting after its conclusion.
As always, we are so appreciative of your continued prayer and financial support of this ministry. It is hard to believe, but this summer marked the beginning of our ninth year of being on the road in full-time evangelism. This would not have been possible without your help and support and your willingness to be used of God in partnering with us.
Also, since our website is going to be down for quite sometime, we will send out a special schedule update very soon.
Together for souls,
George & Pattie
