September 24 Update

Friday, 24 September 2010 00:00 | Written by George Holley

Fall has officially arrived but apparently someone failed to notify the thermometer. It has been in the mid 90's everywhere we have been lately. This is not a complaint, however, just an obvious observation knowing that winter will be here much too soon, ugh!

The Lord has continued to bless and move in our revival services. Last week, September 12-15, we were at the Elmwood Wesleyan Church in Cincinnati, OH with Pastor Jamison Moody. Although the crowds were not large, the help and presence of the Lord was very evident in each service. We appreciated Rev. Jack & Vicki Woodward and others that came from the Community Church near Middletown, OH and also, Rev. Lonnie Smithers and others that came from Daystar Worship Center in Cincinnati. It was also good to see Rev. David & Ann Fruth as they came to visit on Sunday night. We also appreciated our brother-in-law, Ray DeVault, for coming to every service. He and his wife live in the Elmwood community and are only a few blocks from the church.

Our next meeting was held this week, September 19-22, at the Gethsemane Baptist Church in Glasgow, KY with Pastor Paul Davidson. We had a wonderful meeting as it got off to a great start on Sunday morning with a packed house of about 260, which is pretty amazing considering the church is in a rural area. The first service was followed by a church picnic with pork shoulder barbeque, yum!!!

All the other services were very well attended, although not quite as large but just as exciting and inspiring. On Sunday evening a young man in his mid 20's gave me several unopened cans of snuff that he was surrendering to the Lord and we prayed that God would give him victory and deliverance over the addiction. On Tuesday night, a man and his wife in there mid 50's were gloriously saved.

The number and variety of other churches that attended the revival was pretty unbelievable. Rev. Chris Blythe and several from the Fairview General Baptist Church came several nights and they, along with the Bethel Independent Baptist Church, even lifted their Sunday evening services to join us. Others that came were: Rev. Eddie Wade; Rev. Brent Spillman from Little Bethel Baptist Church; First Freewill Baptist; Brotherhood Freewill Baptist; First Church of the Nazarene; Seven Springs Cumberland Presbyterian; Bethel Independent Baptist; Temple Independent Baptist; Tracy Methodist; Oak Forest Baptist; Munfordville Baptist; Foundation Church; Glen Lily Church of God of Prophecy; and Siloam Baptist.

There was an amazing sweet spirit of unity, harmony, and fellowship in the services. That's the way it ought to be, amen?

We can hardly wait to see what God has in store during our upcoming meeting which begins this Sunday at the Lone Oak Wesleyan Church in Anderson, IN. If you are in the area, we would love for you to come and be with us.

Thanks for your continued support of this ministry. All of you are appreciated very much.

Together for souls,

George & Pattie
