Update from Ashland Heights Wesleyan revival
Our last meeting began on Mother's Day, May 9, at the Ashland Heights Wesleyan Church in Ashland, KY with Pastor Gordon & Hettie Tilley. The revival got off to a very good start with several young adult children and grandchildren in attendance with their moms who normally would not have been in the service. You might not normally think so, but it was actually an ideal time to begin a meeting such as this with so many spiritual needs represented by this seasonal crowd. We preached a message on what the family album of Jesus looks like. People are surprised to find out that God has adopted many just like us into His family. We are sad to say that no one responded to the invitation but we believe many hearts were touched. Only eternity will fully reveal what was actually accomplished that morning but God was faithful.
There was a good spirit that could be felt throughout the duration of the revival which continued through Wednesday, May 12. It was so good to be back at this church and renew some old friendships. Our family sang in many of their revivals back in the 80's but this was our first time back to preach for them since then. Many of the saints that we knew then have already gone on to heaven, but it was encouraging to see some of the others have remained true to God and the church.
We got to worship with several of these people back in 2008 when we were preaching at their district camp in Maysville. We also appreciated Pastor Phil Zimmerman and others that came from the Westwood Wesleyan Church. We look forward to being with them in November of this year. It was also good to see Rev. & Mrs. Willard Metz. He is a Wesleyan minister but currently pastors at the Sedgwick United Methodist Church in Ironton, OH. Others came from the Crown City Wesleyan Church and the Windsor Methodist Church.
We are currently in revival at the Walnut Hill CCCU in Leesburg, OH with Pastor Mike Hodge. The meeting concludes tonight and we will be sending out an update a little later. Our next revival will begin on Sunday, May 23, at the Homeland Community Church in Parkersburg, WV with Pastor Brady Stephens.
Thanks for your continued prayer and financial support of this ministry.
Together for souls,
George & Pattie
